Good afternoon, Happy Valentine's Day to all! I hope you have the opportunity to spend time with a loved one in celebration. I am grateful to be with family today after a busy week at the Capitol, which I am pleased to share with you - prepare yourself for a lot of photos! |
Water Treatment Facility Plant VisitLast Friday, Senator Farnsworth and I checked out the Central Iron Range Sanitary Sewer District (CIRSSD) for infrastructure expansion needs. Operations and management at this facility are doing great work, which is so appreciable as we all want clean water re-introduced to nature after it leaves a place like this. ![]() |

Farm BureauOn Monday, I was able to attend a reception hosted by the Minnesota Farm Bureau, which was an opportunity for legislators to connect with them. I was pleased to sit with two constituents from my part of the Iron Range - Nicole Kudrle and Heather Lindula! It was a great evening to sit down and talk about farm to market concerns. ![]() ![]() |
Executive Director of Arrowhead EMS AssociationWhile back on the Range, I had the opportunity to meet with Adam Shadiow, the Executive Director of the Arrowhead EMS Association. We discussed ways we might partner to get needed life-saving equipment into the hands of our First Responders and rural fire departments. I look forward to more conversations with Adam in the near future on this issue. ![]() Wednesday VisitorsOn Wednesday I met with folks from Arrowhead Transit, ARDC, City of Chisholm, MN North College, and Biwabik Township. All of these folks are doing important work in their communities, and getting to hear their needs and see some constituents in the process was well worth the time! Thank you for making the drive to St. Paul! |

Duluth and St. Louis County DaysDuluth and St. Louis County Days also kicked off this week in downtown St. Paul. Rep. Roger Skraba and I enjoyed seeing so many Rangers and folks from the outlying areas, and that includes local units of government, business, industry and labor organizations. I didn’t have time, but Roger had a go with the Local 49’s excavator simulator (picture below). The simulator is one piece of their career and operating engineer’s pathway training program for high school students. What a great example of our commitment to industry and quality training on the Iron Range! Thanks to all who I had the opportunity to meet and chat with at the event, it was great to see you, as always. The constituent meetings are a highlight to a big week, but the important work of the Legislature was also in full swing. I have tax committee meetings three days a week before noon, and environment & natural resources committee meetings after lunch on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s. Things are starting to pick up speed, and I look forward to having more to share on that soon. If you are looking for one more way to keep up on legislative issues, you can tune in to YouTube at https://www.youtube.com/@MNHouseInfo/videos and watch live video of what’s going on, or past video feed of all our committees as well. Enjoy! |
