Rep. Johnson’s statement on the House’s Power-Sharing Agreement

Thursday, February 6, 2025

St. Paul, MN - Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives will become constitutionally organized thanks to a bipartisan power-sharing agreement reached by the DFL and GOP caucuses.

State Representative Pete Johnson (DFL - Duluth) released the following statement:

“House Democrats fought for a power-sharing agreement that honors the will of the voters, and that is what we secured. It’s a good day for democracy and for the Minnesotans that sent us to St. Paul to work together to get things done. I’m grateful to all of our local leaders, organizations, and neighbors that spent these last few weeks discussing their legislative priorities with me, ensuring that I can hit the ground running for Duluth in an organized House of Representatives.”

Specifics on the power-sharing agreement, which include seating DFL Rep. Brad Tabke of Shakopee, and co-committee chairs and even committee membership in the likely event of a tied House, can be found here.
