St. Paul, MN - Today, the Minnesota House of Representatives will become constitutionally organized thanks to a bipartisan power-sharing agreement reached by the DFL and GOP caucuses.
State Representative Liish Kozlowski (DFL - Duluth) released the following statement:
“Democrats fought for and secured our biggest goal – a power-sharing agreement that honors and protects the will of the voters both in Shakopee and statewide, preventing Republicans from throwing out an election in the future just because they don’t like the result. In the past few weeks, I had the great honor of bringing the Capitol to our community and advocating for a bipartisan bonding bill to invest in our region's infrastructure needs, supporting services for victim-survivors of violence, addressing the childcare crisis, championing just and affordable housing for all Minnesotans, and so much more.
"I’m grateful to represent our vibrant community and will continue to defend hard-fought legislative victories and pass a strong and equitable state budget that uplifts all Minnesotans and defend our state and communities continuing the long work advancing freedom and justice for all, even in the face of a hostile Trump administration.”
Specifics on the power-sharing agreement, which include seating DFL Rep. Brad Tabke of Shakopee, and co-committee chairs and even committee membership in the likely event of a tied House, can be found here.
