St. Paul, MN - Today, State Representative Brad Tabke (DFL - Shakopee) was appointed to serve on the Minnesota State Capitol Preservation Commission for the 2025-2026 legislative biennium as a designee of Speaker Emerita Melissa Hortman.
Formed in 2011, the State Capitol Preservation Commission develops a comprehensive, multi-year plan for the ongoing restoration, preservation and maintenance of the Minnesota State Capitol.
“I’ve had the privilege to serve in the State Capitol after its exhaustive, multi-year renovation, and I’m committed to keeping the building in the amazing condition I found it,” said Rep. Tabke. “I’ve brought school groups from Shakopee on Capitol tours, and to see this building through their eyes is an incredible gift. I look forward to serving on this commission and ensuring all Minnesotans can visit and take pride in our Capitol.”
The commission’s 22 members include legislative leadership, the Governor, and four public citizens. The Comprehensive Master Plan is a living document that provides a 20-year outlook for the restoration, preservation and maintenance of the Capitol. It addresses the goals and objectives for:
