ST. PAUL, MN — Representative Greg Boe (R-Chanhassen) is supporting Minnesota’s military heroes by co-signing two different bills.
Through HF4656, cities are now able to use up to $9,000 for Memorial Day observances. This is up from the original amount of $300.
“Our communities need to teach our children about these heroes, so that they will never be forgotten,” Boe said. “By increasing the amount a city can spend on observances, veterans will be able to honor their fallen brothers and sisters, and communities can support grieving families in a meaningful way.”
Representative Boe is also co-sponsoring HF4657, which provides $26.5 million for Minnesota’s Military Readiness Centers. These centers provide resources for military members and families and training for soldiers.
“Every day, the importance of a prepared military comes more into focus,” Boe said. “This money can be used for renovations and upkeep of these important facilities.”
