St. Paul, MN—House GOP Education leads Representative Ron Kresha, R-Little Falls, and Representative Sondra Erickson, R-Princeton, issued the following joint statement in response to the results of MDE’s Fall Planning Survey for Families.
“The survey results make clear that Minnesota parents want their students to go back to school this fall. Local school officials know their communities and the students and families they serve. Parents and the best interests of students are the factors that should be driving this decision. We are confident that they are capable of creating a plan that will keep students and staff safe while providing a world-class education to Minnesota’s youth.”
The survey, conducted by the Minnesota Department of Education, found that 64% of respondents would feel comfortable sending their student(s) back to school this fall. Of those 64% who said they’d be comfortable sending their student(s) back to school this fall, 94% would send their student(s) back to school full time. Less than 12% of respondents said they would not feel comfortable sending their student(s) back to school.
